The gravest projected effects of the global heating for the UK have been detailed by researchers, encompassing a scorching 4C increase in mean temperatures to a 2-metre rise in sea level. A separate possibility envisions a drop of 6C in temperature following the collapse of critical Atlantic Ocean currents, which would profoundly upset food production and energy demand.

These impacts, certain ones are connected to irreversible climate shifts, are seen as improbable but plausible. The team explained that these projections filled a gap in planning that had left the UK unprepared for extreme outcomes.
