The airline announced that this complimentary, “quick and reliable” wifi offering through SpaceX becomes accessible to customers in coach, business, and first class starting the coming month.
Widespread Deployment Throughout Several Carriers
The umbrella company for BA, IAG, announced it had reached an agreement with the satellite firm for providing wifi services on over 500 jets operated by its operators, such as Aer Lingus, Iberia, and the low-cost airline.
Uninterrupted Wifi from Boarding to Arrival
BA stated that the implementation for the service was part of a seven billion pound “transformation” initiative and would deliver smooth internet coverage to passengers from boarding through arrival, even when they are flying above oceans or isolated areas.
Travelers may link several devices while they will not require a separate password.
“Gamechanging for the airline as well as passengers, improving the journey onboard with us by giving them seamless internet from start to finish.”
Present Internet Options
Limited wifi access remains provided to BA travelers across the majority of its jets through the .air service.
Members in BA’s reward scheme can transmit texts plus text-based messages in the air free of charge, while travelers looking to access music, movies, and content on their flight if not travelling in business or first may be charged between £4.99 to £21.99 for a connectivity package.
