This stands as the concluding text I am writing before one of two scenarios unfolds: we make it to Gaza, or Israeli forces capture it. We hope to get there on the ninth of October, after sailing the seas since September 27th.

Earlier this month featured Israeli forces apprehending the personnel aboard the first Sumud convoy just before their scheduled arrival. This is likely the same moment at which Israeli authorities could endeavor to seize our ships belonging to our humanitarian mission.

Journeying During Risky Situations

Our second flotilla has continued sailing despite all reports about what happened of the earlier activists. As we navigated Cypriot waters, preparing for night watch while monitoring a mysterious flying object, we received news regarding the illegal capture by Israel the central humanitarian ships outside territorial boundaries.

Next day brought sobering reality while I completed daily chores: scrubbing eating utensils in the compact galley, checking my phone periodically while Israel progressively captured the additional aid vessels.

These events have merely reinforced our shared resolve to persist in our journey.

Life Onboard

The Mission's Purpose

The therapeutic resources and infant nutrition products placed in the back section and cockpit area of our boat could save numerous lives if we reach our destination. During a recent interview, a questioner implied they perceived our operation as metaphorical as stopping appeared certain.

Viewed from afar, this reading may look credible. However, after sailing extended periods with assistance materials throughout your environment, aware of its exact placement, continuing optimism remains crucial to access requiring populations.

Beyond Humanitarian Aid

But, distributing resources is not the mission's final objective. Officials often question why we don't simply permit their distribution of our aid. Beyond reasonable distrust regarding actual delivery amid extended limitations, consenting to those conditions would tacitly accept authority concerning maritime zones.

Troubling Reports

New details emerged regarding the first mission members: movement to Negev facility, their classification as illegal immigrants despite forcible removal from international waters. These conditions appear horrific yet they pale in comparison to the systematic abuses endured by incarcerated individuals in identical institutions. Reported examples comprise deadly force leading to mortality absent consequent answerability for involved personnel.

Rights monitoring groups have thoroughly documented prevalent abusive techniques and sexual violence incidents within detention centers. While international concern concerning humanitarian workers' situation remains justified and necessary, equivalent consideration proved missing for Palestinian suffering throughout decades of conflict.

Daily dawn I behold the boundless blue ocean and the setting golden satellite before the next daybreak. This nautical liberty to navigate vast waters emphasizes the vital realization that our mission transcends charity.

Liberation for Palestinians stays unachieved while our personal freedoms continue restricted unless that independence is accomplished. This core concept illuminates our ongoing journey. The logic remains simple.
